TSKgelNH2-100aminocolumnsexpandtherangeofTSKgelcolumnsforhydrophilicinteractionchromatography(HILIC).OfferingadifferentselectivityfromthewellknownTSKgelAmide-80columns,thesenovelamino-bondedphasecolumnsstandoutbyprovidingmuchimprovedchemicalstability,aprerequisiteforachievingreproducIBLeandreliableresults.TSKgelNH2-100columnsarepackedwith3micronsilicaparticlescontaining100?pores.Anovelbondingstrategywasadoptedtoimprovechemicalstabilityofthebondedphase.Firstthesilicaisreactedwithatrimethylsilaneendcappingreagentatalowstoichiometricratio,beforereactingresidualandaccessiblesilanolgroupswithtrifunctionalalkylaminosilanereagent.Theresultingbondedphaseprovidesabettersafeguardagainsthydrolysisoftheunderlyingsilica.TSKgelNH2-100columnsareuniqueinthatthebondedphaseligandnotonly,asexpected,hasaterminalprimaryaminogroup,butthatthespaceralsoincorporatessecondaryaswellastertiaryaminogroups.Anioniccompoundsareretainedonthecolumnbyionicinteraction.ThisallowsfortheuseofgrADIentsinsaltconcentration,inadditiontogradientelutionswithacetonitrile.SincetheTSKgelNH2-100columnshavecationicsites,thecolumnscanbeusedasmixedmodecolumnsundersomeconditions.TSKgelNH2-100columnsarewellsuitedfortheanalysisofalltypesofhydrophiliccompounds,includingcarbohydratesandpeptides.Duetoahighliganddensityandlargesurfacearea,thesecolumnsshowstrongerretentionofpolarcompoundsthanTSKgelAmide-80columns.
